First Day Nerves

My first day back in some sort of learning, i was a bag of nerves and had butterflies in my belly.

Arriving a half hour early before my tutor and everyone else.

Yup. Eager beaver arnt the words.

10 week Dress making , 2 hours a week at Suffolk New College.

My tutor is lovely and so are the ladies in my class. The places are limited to 14 students per term, so if your in the Suffolk and are interested. It's best to sign up for it as soon as possible. Summer term starts in July i think. But will check and update.

First lesson we got taught how to measure each other, waist, hips, bust, chest and nape to waist in order for us to buy accurate patterns for the clothes we want to make.
Its surprising how much of a bigger size you have to consider when buying a pattern, depending on your measurements. where as its so easy to go into a store and pick out your usual size. I'm a regular size 12-14 but based on my measurements i have to buy patterns that are a size 18-20. It was a bit depressing at first but it taught me so much about how we all vary and how much our shape and sizes have changed.

Im so excited!

My next lesson is thursday :)

We get to make what ever we want so I'm trying to find patterns for wiggle dresses and such of the 1950s.

I'm looking at vintage Vogue and McCall patterns Will keep you all updated on what i find and where to find them.
